Other Ways to Volunteer

We need your help.

There are many ways to help the Literacy Council other than being a tutor.   We are always looking for good volunteers to contribute their enthusiasm, experience, expertise, and interests to our organization.

Some of our non-tutor volunteer opportunities include:

Office Administrative Support

  • Answering phones
  • Assembling training materials
  • Maintaining the Resource Library
  • Helping with mass mailings
  • Maintaining mailing list databases

Marketing Communications Support

  • Writing
  • Graphics design
  • Collateral production
  • Website administration
  • Photography

Community Outreach

  • Representing the Literacy Council at community events
  • Representing the Literacy Council in partnership with social services agencies
  • Staffing booths and distributing literature at festivals
  • Student life skills coach and mentor

Event Planning and Support

  • Organizing internal events such as Holiday parties and celebrations of student achievement and volunteer recognition.
  • Helping with fundraising events.
