Accreditation

Meeting the highest standards for adult literacy education.

The Literacy Council has the distinction of being accredited by ProLiteracy America.

ProLiteracy Accreditation is the only national accreditation service in the adult education and literacy field.   To receive accreditation, and to be recertified every four years, we must meet a set of rigorous standards:

• Superior professional leadership
• Effective programs
• Committed governing boards
• Outstanding volunteer support

Accreditation raises the credibility and enhances the visibility of literacy organizations in their communities and as part of the greater adult education system.
